Anja en vijf vrienden gaan samen met de antropologie student Dace de bossen van Australië in om rotsschilderingen te onderzoeken. Hun enthousiasme wordt snel minder als Mel na een nachtelijke zwempartij ziek wordt. Ze krijgt koorts, begint te bloeden en wordt verward. Ze verandert langzaam in een roofzuchtig wezen. Mel's vrienden komen er al snel achter dat zij de prooi zijn waar ze op jaagt. Voordat ze kunnen ontsnappen verandert Dace ook. Ze staan voor een moeilijke keus: dood je vrienden of word gedood door hen. De enige weg om te ontsnappen is een grot in te vluchten. Anja komt er te laat achter wat de betekenis is van de schilderingen die ze kwamen onderzoeken.

Anja and five friends go along with the anthropology student Dace forests of Australia in order to study rock art. Their enthusiasm is rapidly less as Mel after a nighttime swim ill. She gets fever, starts bleeding and confused. She gradually turns into a predatory creature. Mel's friends come soon discover that they are where they hunted prey. Before they can escape Dace also changed. They face a difficult choice: kill your friends or be slain by them. The only way to escape is a cave to escape. Anja comes too late the significance of the paintings they were studies.
